Tinubu Celebrates Customs CGC, Adeniyi as He turns 59

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on extended heartfelt congratulations to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, as he celebrted his 59th birthday.The President in a statement issued to newsmen and signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser (Information and Strategy), President Tinubu commended the transformative leadership of CGC Adeniyi since his appointment as the 14th Comptroller-General of Customs in June 2023.Tinubu lauded CGC Adeniyi’s ’s contributions to the advancement of the Customs Service, highlighting his role in driving the digitalisation and automation of operations. He pointed out tha “this progress, coupled with a renewed focus on professionalism and boosting officers’ morale, has resulted in enhanced performance within the agency.”“Under CGC Adeniyi’s stewardship, the Service has achieved unprecedented revenue surpluses, improved trade facilitation, and introduced innovative anti-smuggling strategies.”He further stated that , “these efforts include empowering the youth with alternative livelihood skills, engaging with traditional institutions, and fostering effective communication and mutual respect within and beyond the service.”The President commended the remarkable seizures of arms and ammunition under CGC Adeniyi’s leadership and the successful revival of the Comptroller-General of Customs’ Annual Conference, as a laudable platform aimed at evaluating and strengthening Customs operations.

Tinubu also recognised CGC Adeniyi’s over 30 years of remarkable service and his adaptability, which he said has to brought immense value to the agency.The President prayed that God will grant the CGC divine wisdom, good health, and continued strength as he continues to contribute to national development.
