There has been a horrendous explosion at Otedola Bridge along the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway. The explosion on the busy bridge caused a big panic as transporters and other road users scampered for safety. An eyewitnesses stated that the massive explosion which occured during busy hours on the Otedola bridge was caused by a petrol tanker.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) stated that emergency responders, including the Tiger Response Team, were swift in their response to contain the explosion according to the LASEMA spokesperson Nosa Okunbor on Whatsapp handle, he commended officership and men of the Agency for responding swiftly. Motorists and commuters have been advised to avoid the area as authorities work to contain the situation.
