Compt. EJ Edelduok, the Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command, has disclosed that the command realized an increased revenue generation of Thirty-Eight Billion, One Hundred and Five Million, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifteen Naira (N38,022,972,592.00) only within the first quarter of 2025.The CAC made this disclosure on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 during a Press meeting at the Command’s office in Lagos. She also pointed out some of the landmark achievements in the first quarter of 2025.
According to her the increase in generated revenue: “When compared with the first quarter of 2024, which stood at Twenty-Three Billion, Six Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Fifty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty-Five Naira (N23,668,056,535.00) clearly showed a progressive difference of Fourteen Billion, Four Hundred and Thirty Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Thirty-one Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty Naira (N14,437,931,380.00) only showing 61% increase.”Controller EJ Edeldouk stated that the increase in revenue generation of the command was as a result of the growth and effective revenue collection strategies , efforts of the officers and men of the command in combating smuggling and illicit trade.
Sparking further on the achievements of the command she said the men and officers seized Nine (9) 40ft containers of expired drugs which contravene the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 and these seized items were later handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for further action. CAC Reiterated the determination and resolve of the Command to enhance their relationship with stakeholder engagement through an open-door policy to foster positive relationships and promote compliance.She expressed her gratitude and thanked the stakeholders and partner agencies for their collaboration and called for more cooperation to move the country forward.Computer E. J Edeldouk appreciated the Officers and Men of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command for their resilience ,demonstrating integrity in the fight against smuggling and illicit trade.
She urged them to always adhere strictly to the rules of engagements while discharging their statutory duties. She further expressed her appreciation to the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi( MFR) the NCS management team for their support, motivation and for giving them the platform to contribute to the development and growth of the Nation. She reaffirmed that the Command is dedicated to continue to exhibit transparency and efficiency.
