St. John Vianney Science College, Ukwulu (Anambra) has emerged champion of the inaugural UK-Nigeria Debate Competition, defeating top schools from the UK, Abuja, and Jos!The virtual event, hosted by Bring It On Africa and Debate Mate UK, featured elite schools from both countries.St. John Vianney defeated Maghull High School (UK), then won an all-Nigerian final against St. Augustine’s College, Jos.Their winning team , Chibueze Jennifer, Obiokafor Catherine, Eneoli Benjamin, and Onwuegbusi Valentine will now represent Nigeria in London this December. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso) called it:, “a victory for excellence and global relevance.”This outstanding feat is a clean indication that given an enabling and well structured academic development program, Nigerian students can shine anywhere, All the the country needs is leadership with visions and the will-power to rejuvenate a model that can enhance academic excellence in all spheres of our academic system
