A video in circulation reminiscent of the violence in the 2023 elections in Lagos has raised tensions as Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, the Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the said video was openly declaring war on anyone planning to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in the 2027 elections. The video making waves shows Sego vowing to “severely punish” any resident who dares to vote against the APC, insisting that he has the full backing of the government. He further boasted that what happened in the 2023 presidential election, when APC lost Lagos, would never be allowed to repeat itself. The video has drawn widespread condemnation from the majority of populace. Many have therefore called on the Nigeria Police Force effect his immediate arrest.
