The cargo sector of Nigeria’s aviation industry though thriving is still regarded by experts as under exploited, when one considers the level of activity within the sector. One of such expert who shares this view is Chief Nkem Cookey John, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of 3 Seed investment limited. He is of the view that, cargo sector if properly and effectively managed, that the aviation industry generally will definitely become a huge revenue source for the Federal Government of Nigeria and for all the stakeholders ultimately.
Cookey made his position known in an exclusive interview with Upright communications, during which time he spoke eloquently about the sector and advised that all hands must be on deck to support laudable programs of government as seen in the recent time.
The 3 Seed boss who was the personality of the week of Upright news revealed that in his 23 years of practice and operating in the sector, there is no doubt in his mind about the enormous potential within the sector, asserting that if properly managed it can compete favorably with or even come second after the petroleum industry.
He alluded to the fact that, cargo industry presently is not well coordinated compared to the transport side of cargo saying that, the onus lies on the authority and every other players in the system to see the sector as a growing one that needs to be tapped fully.
