FG Should Come up With Special Pension Scheme for Retirees, Others – Odika

The Federal Government has been urged to create a well-structured pension plan that will take care of both the retired workers and those who have never enjoyed paid employment in their life. This call was made by renown aviation personality Herbert Odika during a chat with Upright communication at a one-day medical outreach organized by the Church of faith Bible Ministry which he doubles as its head Pastor.
He strongly advocated for proper introspection in the pension system of the country as see the need importance of creating a scheme which cater for other category citizens when they get old.
His words “I want to encourage the government to come up with a pension scheme for retired people and people that have never enjoyed employment in their life. There is a high population of people in this country that may have even had basic education but have never been opportune to work in their life and they don’t have a pension or anything to fall back on to, I would want the government to look into this area of pensioners. Let’s start from there the elderly, young people have the strength to work but the elderly are not able to help themselves, let us look at our population. The communication companies have helped to gather data and all that so to a large extent we can say that we’ve been able to gather 70 – 80% of the people’s data who are real Nigerians and their ages so we will be able to help the elderly now while the young people still go out to hustle, look for how to survive; I will appeal to the government to look into this.” Odika remains convinced that this country will achieve greatness if everyone pulls together in the right direction for the common good.
