Inter Schools Debate, Quiz, Spelling Bee and Table Tennis Competitions organized by FRSC Isolo

Federal Road Safety Corps is an Agency that hinges her cardinal values on advocacy through structured enlightenment and youth education. This is the premise upon which the Command of FRSC at Isolo organized inter- schools debate, quiz, spelling bee and table tennis competitions which commenced on 6th November 2024 with finals on Saturday 23rd November, 2024.
The Unit Commander FRSC Isolo, CRC UO Uko while answering questions noted that the program was part of the initiative of the Command to enhance the Catch them Young policy of the Corps.
He further opined that under his watch his team developed “the who will pay my school fees”, which is a progressive initiative aimed at ensuring the integration of right safety ethics in the minds of school children.
The program seeks to achieve among other goals the buy- in of children into road safety as a culture while encouraging them to advice their parents to obey traffic rules so they don’t get involved in crashes because if they do, there won’t be anyone to pay their school fees.
To enhance extra curricula activities, he said they decided to organize the competition to also teach safety ethics, entrench more unity among the participating schools and the students.
The categories of the competition were:
Spelling bee (primary school)
Quiz (secondary school)
Debate (secondary school)
Table tennis ( male and female)
Twenty five schools drawn from private and public participated in the competition. Some dropped out at the preliminary stages.

  • Headstart Private School (third). In her words,the Chairperson Ejigbo LCDA, Mrs Fatima Bello commended the participants for the wonderful performance and urged them to keep it up. She promised to continue to support such laudable ventures.

The representative of the Sector Commander Lagos, RC BO Jayeola (Sector Public Education Officer, Lagos) also commended the initiative while stressing that it came timely to educate the children.

Medals and trophies were given to the students and schools that had outstanding performance.
