The Edo State Commissioner of Police Mrs. Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been sacked over the dastardly Uromi killings, she has been removed as the Commissioner of Police in Edo State while a new commissioner, Mr. Monday Agbonika has been appointed as her replacement. Otimenyin was appointed as the 49th CP of the State on January 16, 2025. She took over from CP Peter Umoru Ozigi after his retirement on January 25, 2025.
The new CP Agbonika was until his deployment to Edo State, the Commissioner of Police (Mounted Troop), Force Equitation Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja. He has been charged to be proactive and to settle down quickly so as to reduce the crime rate in Edo State. The new CP was also advised to look into the issues surrounding the recent killings in the state.
