The Federal Government has once again reiterated its resolve to making life better for Nigerians despite some challenges confronting the country.This revelation was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris in a joint briefing which is part of ministerial media parley as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to inform Nigerians on the workings of the various government ministries and agencies.The Minister declared that, the government is doing so much and will continue to do more to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians especially in the areas of food and security of lives and properties.
He explained the unwavering commitment of the present government in ensuring that every Nigerian is treated fairly even as he urged the members of the fourth estate of the realm, the watchdog of the society to support the laudable initiatives of government in making the society a better place. The Minister of defense, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who also presented his own report card at the event harped that his Ministry was doing so much in providing security for all Nigerians. According to him, the Nigerian security apparatus have neutralized a good number of terrorists and insurgents across the country. He affirmed the determined efforts of the Nigerian military which he said is working day and night to ensure that Nigerians are protected. He acknowledged the fact that, the war against terror is far from being over but assured that, the federal government is doing all it can to ensure that the terrorists and their sponsors are brought to their knees and permanently too.
The Minister stated further that security in Nigeria has improved greatly compared to what other African Countries like Chad, Niger, Burkinafaso etc, are experiencing, adding that, lives have returned to most places and that markets that were hitherto closed in the past especially in the North West are now booming. For the Minister of Environment, Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, on his part explained that his ministry is doing so much to making the Nigerian environment pleasant for all and sundry, even as he called for the support of every citizen in the fight against pollution. Other dignitaries present at the event include; Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the president on Information and Strategy, permanent Secretaries, top government Officials including Senior Military Officers. The ministerial briefing is an ongoing process whereby the ministries are expected to educate Nigerians on the achievements of their various ministries. It’s an initiative of the present government designed to carry everyone along on the activities and achievements of government.
