The Impact Of Benue International Investment And Economic Summit & Need For Consistency

All attention albeit temporarily shifted to Makurdi as the Benue International Investment and Economic Summit took center stage from May 8 to 10, 2025. The summit held in Markurdi the beautiful capital city of Benue State, attracted wide range of investors, policy makers, industry leaders, development experts and the government, is one event which was well organized, and recorded high attendance rate which cut across local, continental and international.

At the summit, the undeniable fact of Benue State as the frontier destination for agro – industrial and infrastructural investment in Nigeria was on full display at the event. The summit was declared open by the State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iornem Alia. In his opening remark, Fr. Alia represented by his deputy Dr. Barr. Sam Ode, revealed the governments plan to tap into and unlock the economic potentials of the state via targeted investments in Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Space Technology, Aviation, and Digital Infrastructure.

It is worthy to note that the summit witnessed participation of delegates from all over the world with the Indonesian delegates setting the pace when they made a pre event visit to the state government, engaging in series of strategic meetings with the government. As with events of success nature, each day of the summit focused on a particular theme which was extensively discussed and disected with resolutions reached while agenda’s were set.

Day 1: Dealt with innovation, Finance and Agricultural Mappings.

Day 2: Focused on Aviation and investment climate

Day 3: Attention was fully turned to Energy, Gas, and Minerals sector.

All these were soundly tackled giving a holistic coverage of the economy which attests to the relevance and success of the Benue International Investment and Economic Summit 2025. All eyes are now on the organizers for the next edition.
