Freight Forwarders Saddened By Death Of Ex ANLCA Publicity Secretary

The members of Apex Customs Clearing Agents also known as Freight forwarders have been thrown into deep mourning following the death of the former Publicity Secretary of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Dr. Obicee Okonkwo. Okonkwo was also the National Publicity Secretary of Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria (Aspen) He died on Saturday after a protracted illness. In a statement signed by Dr. Eugene Nweke Secretary of Board of Trustees (BoT) of ASIMPIN. Nweke, described the passage of Okonkwo as a big loss to the maritime industry.

According to him “The ASIMPIN Board of Trustees is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Obicee Okonkwo, National Publicity Secretary of ASIMPIN. His dedication, expertise, and passion for the maritime industry will be greatly missed. Indeed, his legacies lives on. May Dr. Okonkwo’s soul rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.” “The Board of Trustees must admit that, the maritime community has lost a rare gem, but his contributions and legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us.
