The Race for ASO ROCK 2027 is graduation hitting up and gathering momentum this is as prominent APC Govs. declare support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid under the All Progressives Congress. Five Governors elected under the APC and political bigwigs from the North Central region have unanimously declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. This resolution was reached during a high-level meeting held on Wednesday evening in Abuja, which brought together five APC governors and other influential leaders from the region.
The endorsement is a big relief for the embattled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who in recent times have been criticized for Nigeria’s economic down turn with worsening inflation indices.The APC governors and leaders unmindful of the general economic hardship in the country pointed out the necessity of granting President Tinubu another four-year term to sustain what they see as progress made under his administration. During the meeting, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, formally moved the motion endorsing Tinubu for re-election. He stated:“We, members of the APC from the North Central geopolitical zone, at this meeting held on May 21, 2025, in Abuja — with the SGF, governors of the zone, National Assembly members, ministers, and other critical stakeholders in attendance — having observed with satisfaction the outstanding performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC-led government, resolve as follows:
We endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to seek another term of four years to continue his commendable work. The North Central APC will also maintain its full support for the president’s people-focused programs and policies. On behalf of everyone here, I move this motion.” Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, reading the communique from the gathering, affirmed: “After thoroughly reviewing the current direction of national governance and acknowledging the courage, vision, and resilience with which President Tinubu has led the country through significant challenges, we unanimously pass a vote of confidence in his administration. Accordingly, we wholeheartedly endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to contest for a second term in 2027, to consolidate the gains of his reforms and fully realise their impact.”
Governor Sule also expressed gratitude to the president for numerous developmental initiatives across the North Central zone. He noted that from road infrastructure and educational advancements to rural electrification and agricultural support, the Renewed Hope Agenda is steadily transforming the region into a center of opportunity and progress. He described these efforts as a clear indication of Tinubu’s commitment to national development and equity.
