Police Confirm Death Of Six Persons In Okigwe, Abduction Of 25 Passengers At Aba – Owerri Road In Imo

Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Henry Okoye has said that the Nigeria Police Force Imo State Command has confirmed the killing of Six persons in Okigwe and abduction of 25 passengers at Aba-Owerri in Ngor Okpala local Government Areas of Imo State by the suspected Fulani Herdsmen. Speaking at a radio program organised by Hot 99.5FM tagged People’s Assembly, he stated that Police Commissioner in Imo State CP Aboki Danjuma has set up a decisive tactical Command to arrest those Fulani herdsmen who marched their victims to Ngor Okpala Forest adding that these hoodlums have been terrorising the areas and in no distance time they would be apprehended. Okoye however advised the Imo Communities to set up Vigilante Services and always give prompt information to Police for quick response. He gave assurance that they will always protect the confidentiality of their sources and with out any atom of victimization.

Similarly a University Student in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State who escaped from the kidnappers den Allegedly told Journalists in Imo State that the kidnappers were Fulani herdsmen who spoke their language fluently. It could be recalled that last year Police Commissioner CP Aboki Danjuma on hearing the kidnapping spree at the forest of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) by the suspected Fulani herdsmen, combed the FUTO forest very close to 34 Field Artillary Brigade Obinze, Owerri-West Local Government Area of Imo State and arrested over six suspected Fulani herdsmen who came from the far North, admitted to the crime, but until this moment they have not been prosecuted in any Court of Competent Jurisdiction.
