In a striking and imaginative protest, social media activist Martins Vincent Otse popularly referred to as VeryDarkMan (VDM) made his presence felt right at the gate of the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike’s residence in Abuja, setting up an impromptu classroom to address the ongoing teachers’ strike. VDM was spotted leading a group of school children in their uniforms, conducting an open-air lesson where he creatively taught them the alphabet — but with a unique twist.
“T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” he called out, and the children enthusiastically repeated after him. This protest has ignited series of reactions online, with many applauding it as a poignant symbol of the failures in education leadership, while others raise concerns about involving children!ldren in such activism. The teachers’ strike has left countless children out of school, and VDM’s latest move shines a brighter light on the government’s sluggish response to resolving the crisis.
