The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially appointed Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as the ruling Party’s new National Chairman.His appointment was confirmed during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Abuja.Professor Nentawa Yilwatda’s appointment followed his nomination by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and seconded by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abba Tajudeen.The nomination was unanimous supported by the NEC members.The new Nationsl Chairman, Professor Yilwatda was immediately sworn into office.The newly appointed APC National Chairman took over from Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who stepped down recently due to health reasons.Professor Yilwatda is currently the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and was once a university lecturer. He is from Plateau State and was the APC’s candidate for governor in the 2023 elections.His selection follows an agreement reached during a late-night meeting in Abuja between President Bola Tinubu and APC governors.The 56 -year old Yilwatda reknown political strategist is expected to bring his wealth of experience to galvanize and coordinate the APC.
