From Marcel Duru, Owerri

Public Affairs Analyst based in Anambra State Chief Dominic Udoaja has called on Nigerians to resist the introduction of State Police in the amendment of the present constitution Speaking with journalists at Ihiala in Anambra State he stated that Soludo’s Operation “Udo-Gachi” is his own selected for state police in the State waiting for approved by the National Assembly to pass it into law. He revealed that Governor Soludo proposed State police recently molested, tortured and striped a female corps member naked. This dehumanization has led to public condemnation. To ensure that security operatives show professionalism, the Anambra State Government should not recruit somebody who has not undergone rigorous training in the camp spanning up to at least three months, with police and army there to monitor the exercise.

“It is a shame that a security personnel should not know his left from right. Since the female corper was not violent, the leader of that operation should have allowed a female security to do investigation, instead of leaving eight men to bring this shame to the state government and that agency. He said that any uniform person should be learned. trained and not touts who were working in motor parks who can not identified temptations or obstacles inherent to uniform men and women and also know how to protect and sanitising the people of the state and also avoid provocation or whatever that would lead on the begging side. Udoaja further projected that the people understand the sacrifices the security has been making, they sleep on the highway, no rest, no time for themselves, even in their sleep they must respond when called, most times, they pay the supreme price. But they will be the greatest fool if they don’t follow the rule of engagement.
