In a renewed commitment to secure the Water ways the Controller in charge of Western Marine Command, Comptroller Patrick Ntadi, has reaffirmed the commitment of Western Marine Command to collaborate with traditional rulers to safeguard and enhance security along the nation’s southwestern waterways. Comptroller Patrick Ntadi disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Akran of Badagry, De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I, on Tuesday, 4 November 2025. The courtesy visit was aimed at strengthening a working partnership and building on the existing relationship with traditional institutions Area Controller Ntadi during the courtesy visit pointed out the important role of traditional rulers in promoting peace and supporting law enforcement efforts within their community.“Knowing the position of traditional rulers, this engagement is important because they are more rooted at the grassroot. We know the effect of smuggling and illicit trade on the economy, and we believe traditional rulers can use their influence to discourage such activities”, he stated.
The Ouipetoji of Badagry Kingdom, Chief Abel Ogunbiyi who spoke on behalf of the traditional ruler, expressed the Monarch’s gratitude on the visit and commended the Comptroller’s leadership and longstanding relationship with the Badagry community.He stated that;“Comptroller Ntadi is a son of the soil. He has served here since his early years in the Service and has consistently advised our youths to shun smuggling and embrace legitimate trade. We are proud to see him back as Controller, committed to securing our waterways”.Stakeholders and other prominent indigenes of the community expressed their happiness at Comptroller Ntadi’s proactive leadership and reaffirmed their readiness to support the Western Marine Command’s operations in safeguarding the water ways.
