Lagos Free Trade Zone Command has reviewed great commendations for laudable progress in strategic operational areas from ACG Tenny Daniyan who is the Comptroller of Excise, Free Trade Zones and industrial incentives.The Assistant Comptroller General of Customs gave the commendation during a working visit to the Command on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, he praised the leadership of LFTZ Area Controller, Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar.
Comptroller Abubakar during her welcome remarks highlighted key achievements recorded since she assumed office in April 2025, stating that the Command has strengthened stakeholder engagement, deepened relationships with traditional institutions, improved infrastructure, and prioritised officers’ welfare.“The collective efforts have continued to reflect positively on the overall performance of the Command. Our revenue performance has shown steady good compliance culture among operators, while stakeholders and investors now express deeper trust in the Command’s leadership and operational process.” Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar also pointed out that the Command recorded a significant rise in revenue generation , “At the end of november 2025, the total revenue generated by the command is put at ₦661,545,608,365, Surpassing the sum of ₦311,499,311, generated same period last year.”
ACG Daniyan during his response reiterated the importance of discipline, vision, and regulatory compliance for effective operations across Nigeria’s free trade zones. He encouraged officers to deepen their knowledge of guidelines governing the zone.“I want to implore all of us to be conversant with the zone, all the governing authorities’ manuals, regulations, and guidelines”, he s disclosed that . “Knowledge is power, and you should be able to make impact in your environment; if not, you will be a push-around.” ACG Tenny Daniyan expressed satisfaction with the development and potential of the free trade zone concept, while calling on operators to consistently uphold regulatory standards.“I think the free trade zone as a whole, the concept is good”, He further emphasized that :“We only have to encourage our Nigerian stakeholders to do the right thing, to follow guidelines and follow regulations.
The government has really done well by introducing the free trade zone concept, which is to generate revenue for the nation and bring prosperity to the people.”The Comptroller reaffirmed Nigeria Custom Service commitment to strengthening efficiency, compliance, and investor confidence across all free trade zones
