The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A handed over 12 Cartons of 250mg tramadol worth N180milion to the officials of National Agency on Food Drugs Administration and Control at the Command’s Head office in ikeja on 16th June 2028. Speaking at the official hand over to the Press and officers of NAFDAC , the controller of Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu who was represented by Deputy Comptroller Timothy Worusen Head of Administration FOU Zone A Expressed st delight over the seizure of Tramadol and Natizol Tablets to our partner agency, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in furtherance of our commitment to safeguard the health of the Nation He disclosed that the seizure was ” part of the ongoing enforcement operations to disrupt drug trafficking syndicates across the South.”
According to the Deputy Cimptr.eFederal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A intercepted 12 cartons containing a total of 596,700 tablets of Tamral Tramadaol Hydrochloride in 250mg. He stated that the seizure was made along the Ijebu Ode corridor between the 1st and 11th of June 2026. The illicit pharmaceuticals were conveyed in a Toyota Hilux and two suspects were arrested following coordinated intelligence and the well-executed surveillance operations. The seized tramadol tablets has a Value of One Eighty Million Naira (N180,000,000.00). The DC sighted the worsening I security challenges in the our Nation today is linked to the illegal importation and distribution of dangerous drugs, which act as chemical catalysts for committing various crimes. This reality underscores the urgent need for stronger, more effective intelligence sharing frameworks among critical stakeholders to disrupt and severe the supply chain of these criminal networks. He further stated thst”This interception underscores the service’s unwavering commitment to combating the proliferation of ilicit drugs, while appreciating the strategic collaboration with NAFDAC.

The Director of investigation and enforcements of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control ( NAFDAC ) Dr. Mark Iluyomade represented the Director General of the Agency while reviewing the hand over note Expressed satisfaction at the professionalism of officers of FOU Zone and called for more strategic inter Agency collaboration.
