APC Senatorial Primaries Concludes in Imo.

APC Senatorial primaries has been concluded in the State Yesterday in Imo West (Orlu Zone), where the incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma, polled a total of 230,464 votes to defeat Rochas Okorocha who polled 1,098 votes.The primaries was held across 12 LGAs with Option A4 as the voting method (open voting) applied. Uzodimma won all 12 Local Government Areas with the biggest in Oru East 46,973, Oru West 32,333, Oguta 13,254 amongst others, which APC described as “peaceful, transparent and widely accepted.” In Imo North (Okigwe Zone)Patrick Ndubueze polled the total votes of 108,862 to defeat former Senator Ifeanyi Ararume who polled 79 votes.However before the election other aspirants stepped down for Ndubueze, so it was essentially considered a consensus affirmationsSimilarly in Imo East (Owerri Zone)Alex Mbata won the primaryfor other all other aspirants stepped down for him as no contested vote was carried out. In the same development APC specifically noted that three primaries were peaceful and orderly and Imo West was the only zone with a real contest between Uzodimma and Okorocha.
