Professor of History and International Relation based in United States of America Professor Japheth Adimora has said that forces of disintegration is causing Nigeria disunity it is that forces that continued to keep pulling us apart instead of together. Speaking at Concorde Hotel Owerri, Imo State, he disclosed that Nigeria is over 280 ethnic groups, two major religions, with 36 States when a problem hits, we often filter it through Ethnicity, Religion, Region, or Party affiliation, Adimora added that Banditry in Zamfara, Killing, kidnapping of Youths in the name of IPOB in South East, abduction in Oyo, insurgency in Borno. Instead of Nigerians to descend on the killers, kidnappers, the conversation becomes North and South against East, Muslim and Christian APC and PDP the problem becomes secondary to identity. He however stated that Mazi Nnamdi Kalu and Sunday Igboho were championing Self- Determination the Yoruba rally round and release Igboho and closed his case but Mazi Nnamdi Kalu was imprisoned by Justice James Omotosho from Yoruba and hundreds of Boko Haram and Fulani bandits from the North were released, rehabilitated, trained and reintegrated in to the Society.Adimora further stated that People don’t trust government, elites, or even each other. If the state feels distant, corrupt, citizens form their own tribal or Community solutions.He opined that insecurity North set up local Vigilante,the Hunters, South established Oodua People Congress (OPC),Amotekun and East set up Ebubeagu and recently, Gov. Makinde set up a situation room for Oyo abductions. Adamawa Deputy Gov. Farauta vowed Adamawa State is the wrong place to come to for traffickers, all these are based on State-level while National Coordination and Cooperation feel weak, so each state fights alone that means forces of disintegration is very severe on Nigeria”When we come to Politics, contracts, admissions,jobs appointments, region push their own interest first. Unity only happens when there’s enough for everyone, or when the threat is so big it can’t be ignored.Adimora projected that in Past conflicts like Biafra Nigeria Civil war, where Federal Government senselessly instituted serious food blockade in South East that killed over two million Children in Igbo land, Yoruba and Housa/Fulani Press were busy creating false impression through their Newspapers and Magazines that Igbos are domineering, wanted to control Africa and during the military rule in Nigeria North and West controlled Nigeria and up til now Housa/Fulani,Yoruba don’t want Igbo man to rule Nigeria He added that during resource control debates created different versions of Nigeria’s story Without a shared story of what we’re fighting for it’s hard to fight against something together. Gov. Uzodimma said it at FUTO 38th Convocation “We either sit at the table or stare on the menu. The choice is ours” – meaning we must choose to lead together or be left out this is possible when forces of integration is appease.”For abuse of Political, Social, Economic, integration in Nigeria, the Cosmic Tribunal has revealed that there will be neither Unity, Integration, nor Togetherness in Nigeria for ever and ever because the Executive Council of Mercy for this Country has been cancelled.”
