The Comptroller General of Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) Adewale Bashir Adenyi (MFR) said the promotion of ACG Frank Onyeka is a great reward for hard work, The CGC disclosed this as the Tin Can Island Area Controller, Comptrroller Frank Onyeka was elevated to the post of an Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Nigeria Custom Service. The Customs boss said “it is no longer speculation, he has got his staff order delivered to him today.” The recent promotion of Comptrroller Frank Onyeka to the post of ACG also came with the deployment of Compt Joe Anani of the PTML Command as the New Area Controller at the Tim Can command. In this major reshuffling geared towards improving the revenue generation of the NCS.
Deputy Comptroller Miko following the redeployment of Comptr Joe Anani to Tin Can Island Port Command takes over at the PTML Command. CGC Adenyi commended the officers for their excellence and professionalism in discharging their duties. “The trio have paid their dues, thereby justifying their appointments.” he noted. CGC Adewale Bashir Adenyi since his assumption of office has displayed visionary leadership and motivated officers towards achieving the service’s mandates. The Comptroller has remained very steadfast in his drive towards creating an impactful, transformational and purpose driven leadership. He has created an enabling workforce that can take the agency to higher heights.
ACG Frank Onyeka within one and half years at the Tin Can Island Command carved out a niche for himself in professionalism, excellence, improved revenue generation, and taken the anti-smuggling mandates to greater heights. ACG Frank Onyeka was able to sustain the tempo in improvement of revenue generation instituted by DCG Dera Nnadi as the Customs Area Administrator. He took the Command’s revenue generation to a new and unprecedented milestone of trillion naira target revenue. ACG Onyeka during this short but productive reign as the Controller of Tin Can Island Area Command raised the revenue generation bar to the current multi-trillion naira revenue base.
The ACG left no one in doubt with his proactive anti-smuggling feats and became celebrated, while intercepting several arms and ammunition as well as drugs such as cocaine with Canadian loud which featured prominently in most of his achievements at the command. Reacting to his elevation ACG Onyeka expressed joy for being recognized by the Comptroller General who he described as his father. He also thanked the Nigeria Custom Service management.
