In a record turning Revenue Generation feat the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has recorded an all time revenue milestone, generating ₦28.1 billion within 24 hours on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.This was disclosed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Isah Sulaiman, the Command generated ₦28,102,000,914.61, surpassing its previous daily record of ₦20.1 billion achieved in September 2025.This comes barely weeks after the Command recorded an unprecedented ₦323 billion in monthly revenue in July 2026, which the command attributed to improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions and increased efficiency of digital Customs processes.The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, said the milestone was not merely about revenue figures but about the contribution of the Service to national development. He noted that Customs revenue forms part of government resources used to fund critical sectors, including infrastructure, security, education and healthcare.Oshoba dedicated the achievement to the government and people of Nigeria, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the management of the Service for their continued support for modernisation, automation and reforms aimed at improving Customs operations. He also acknowledged the cooperation of compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders, as well as Nigerians who provide actionable intelligence.”Every compliant transaction contributes to national development. I urge stakeholders to continue supporting legitimate trade. A stronger revenue base gives government greater capacity to respond to the needs of citizens and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” he said.The CAC further charged officers and men of the Command not to become complacent, but to regard the new record as a responsibility to do more.
