Personnel from Physical Planning Unit of the Federal University of Technology (FUTO) has said that FUTO has mapped out 2.5 Hecters of Land to Aliko Dangote for the Construction of N550 Million Ultra-modern Students Hostel in Imo State. Speaking over the philanthropist gesture of Aliko Dangote, the out going Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology (FUTO)Professor Nnenna Otti said that Dangote gesture is Philanthropy per excellence who has distinguished himself not only in Africa but across the globe. She further said that Dangote has Contributed a Lot to the development of Education in Nigeria in particular and African continent in general, stressing that Federal University of Technology will continue to honor his philanthropist gesture.In the same corner, the Dean of School of Biological Sciences Professor Ikenna Nwachukwu while commending the philanthropist Aliko Dangote said that this represents a significant mile stone, and it is truly commendable.
“I cannot readly recall any individual contributing such an extraordinary amount from private resources towards the development of our University Dangote is indeed of immence influence and generosity”Similarly Professor CID however stated that (FUTO) Community has benefited from Dangote bene volence and Philanthropy, adding that (FUTO) appreciate his donation that will Impact positively in academic development of the institution.In the same vein the Student Union governmemt has charted a Commendations song for the richest man in Africa over donation of N25 million to student Union and the student gave Dangote standing ovation as a way of Commendation and acknowledgement of his Philanthropy. It could be recalled that Aliko Dangote on April 25, 2026 delivered 37th Land Mark Public Lecture at the Federal University of Technology (FUTO) with the Topic” A Dialogue with Aliko Dangote Enterprises, tagged Leadership and service to Humanity’ where he received “Macho man” FUTO Symbol of Academic Excellence.
