Come first of September, 2026, the National Association Government Approved Freight Forwarders(NAGAFF), airport Chapter will be going to the poll to elect new set of leaders.The election originally would have taken place on July 27th, 2026 but had to be postponed due to circumstances at that time as explained by Electoral Commission.The campaign for the election had been on in the last couple of months after members purchased the expression of interest forms on the positions to be contested for.An agent who spoke to Upright Communications reporter and who did not want his name mentioned explained that , the election was supposed to have been won and lost but stressed that, it dragged on due issue raised by one of the camps, prompting the postponement by the electoral body incharge of the conduct of the election.He explained further that, this was the first time NAGAFF shifted the date of its elections, adding that, such move was accommodated to carry everyone along and have a rancour free election which NAGAFF is known for, over the years.
On his advice to the contestants, he sued for peaceful election saying that, elections should npt be a desperate and that, the will of the people should be allowed to prevail. NAGAFF is one of the leading, and professional body of Clearing agents duly recognized by various government agencies operating at various ports entrants including aviation. The body began operation in 1999 and had since remained a rallying points to cargo agents and logistics magnets that operates even at the land borders. Head or tail, a winner must surely emerge in this highly publicized election which all members are enthusiastically looking forward to.
