The people of Umologho have called on the Imo State Police Command to stage public execution on those bandits Onyema Okonkwo and Emmanuel his colleagues who have beheaded Miss Wendy Achumba a Nursing Student at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.The Youth Leader in the Area Who identified himself as Chidiebere Iweajunwa said that since they have confessed of having beheaded the innocent Student what is the need of keeping them alive, we are afraid of extrajudicial killing that was why we have handled them over to Police, the best option now is to kill them to server as a deterant to order criminal minded youths who are sneaking into the Local Government Area, Wendy Achumba was a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho/Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School, Obowo LGA. She’s hails from Ngwa in Abia State. She had completed her Midwifery program and was doing Post Basic Training, Her body was found beheaded/throat slit in her off-campus apartment on Thursday evening, about 3 days ago.
Neighbors forced the door open after she didn’t respond to calls. Her phone was missing. Meanwhile Imo Police PPRO Henry Okoye confirmed two suspect was arrested for questioning, he added that the suspect named! *Onyema Okonkwo* was arrested by youths of Umuadara, Umulogho, led by youth leader Chidiebere Iweajunwa, confessed that he and one Emmanuel broke into Wendy’s apartment around 7pm, raped her, and then killed her. He said she refused sex, so they attacked her. However Imo Police Command Said investigations have fully commenced,to track the other people in connection to the incidentand appealed for calm. Similarly the Chairman of Obowo Local Government Area Hon. Obioma Ehirim condemned the killing, condoled with the family, and called for a thorough, transparent investigation, commended the police for the swift response and arrest. Meanwhile Students and the Umulogho Community are still in shock and fear.They however calls on the Police and other Security Operatives for protection and forgot the school/Management to ensure speedy prosecution of the culprits.
